I wanted to tell you about some exercises and home remedies that people in our village have used for a long time to get rid of belly fat after giving birth. When pregnant, our stomachs slowly get more significant to make room for the growing baby. This takes nine months. We should almost give our bodies the same time to return to their original shape.
Tips For Reducing Belly Fat Following Pregnancy:
- If you use the tips below, you can speed up the process of losing belly fat after giving birth. You can use these remedies even if you are breastfeeding.
- Even though I was eager to get back in shape after having my son, I never let it stress me out. I just did the simple things that people in our village had been doing for a long time. I slowly lost my belly fat and returned to my old shape.
- Please be kind to yourself. Your body is already going through a lot of stress because of your baby’s busy schedule. If you don’t have patience, you’ll start cutting calories by a lot if you want to get rid of belly fat quickly.
- Even though cutting calories a lot is wrong for anyone, it isn’t perfect after giving birth. When we cut calories a lot, we lose a lot of muscle, not fat, and our breast milk will also go down a lot.
- Stress is also a factor. When stressed, our cortisol levels go up, making it harder to lose weight. So try your best to stay calm and sleep when your baby sleeps to compensate for lost time.
- Along with the garlic soup, I’ll describe below, try to eat healthy home-cooked food. Try to lower your stress by taking breaks and doing the exercises I’ve given you every day. You’ll start to feel better soon.
Top 10 Exercises & Tips For Reducing Belly Fat After Pregnancy:
Breastfeeding to reduce belly fat:
Not only is it good for the baby, but it also helps get rid of belly fat. When we breastfeed, our uterus shrinks, and we lose a lot of belly fat. It also burns 400 to 500 calories daily, which is a big plus. Try to suckle for at least a year because it’s good for you and the baby.
Garlic soup for losing belly fat:
My mom would make me garlic soup every day after I was born. It helps create more breast milk and gets rid of belly fat simultaneously. To make garlic soup, use a mortar and pestle to roughly crush 1/4 teaspoon of cumin seeds and 1/4 teaspoon of black peppercorns. Now, heat 1/4 teaspoon of unrefined sesame oil in a pan. Add garlic that has been cut into small pieces and fry for a few seconds.
Add the ground cumin and black pepper and cook for a few seconds. Finely add a cup of boiled toor dhal water, which you can get by boiling one tablespoon of toor dal with 1 cup of water and 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder until mushy. Bring the right amount of salt to a boil for 5 minutes, then turn off the heat. It works best if you drink it every day.
Postpartum Abdominal Wrap:
Most of the time, after giving birth, the stomach muscles are toned with herbal wraps and a gentle massage. For the herbal wrap, bring a liter of water and any herbs you want to use to a boil and let them steep for 5 minutes. Strain the water.
Use herbs that can heal, wake you up, and clean your body. I’ve used ginger and lemongrass that have been pounded together well. Soak a thin cotton cloth in the water with the herbs, wring out the excess water, and put it on the stomach for 15 minutes or until the fabric stops being hot.
Massage to lose belly fat:
You lose belly fat very quickly when you massage your belly with pure plant-based oils. It helps even more if you do it after putting on the belly wrap. Most of the time, massages are done with unrefined oils like sesame oil or coconut oil.
But I like to massage with a mixture of virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, and the contents of one bottle of vitamin E oil. For the best results, try to do the belly wrap and massage at least twice or thrice a week.
Reduce stress and unwind:
I know that taking it easy when you have a new baby will be hard. In our village, it is a tradition for people to see the new baby so that we will have visitors all day long for the first few months. This will create it tough for us to have any time to ourselves.
But I made sure to take time for myself by taking a short walk around the farm every night. This made me feel calm and gave me the energy to get through the day’s rest. Bring some time for yourself, even if it’s just 15 minutes, and do something you enjoy. It will help you calm down.
Eat nutritious home-cooked meals:
This is very important if you want to lose belly fat and breastfeed your baby simultaneously. If you eat fresh, home-cooked meals, you’ll get all the nutrients you need while you’re breastfeeding.
This will assist you in avoiding various problems, like hair loss, that many women face after giving birth. Most meals made at home are low in fat and high in fiber and nutrients, so they keep us full for a long time. Try as hard as you can not eat prepackaged or highly processed foods.
Exercises I did to lose belly fat:
These three exercises are what my doctor taught me to do to lose belly fat quickly and tone my stomach. My friend agreed to show me how to make the moves. Even though I’ve told you how many sets to do for each exercise, you should start with the number of reps you can do comfortably.
Leg raises can help you lose belly fat:
Lay flat on your back with your legs together and straight. Now, slowly bring the legs as close together as possible. Hold for a few seconds, and then slowly lower the legs to the ground. Do three sets of 5 reps.
Crunches to Lose Belly Fat:
Flatten yourself out and put your hands behind your head. Now, slowly curl forward, hold for a few seconds, and then go back to where you started. Never pull your neck forward as you do crunches. Try to do three sets of 10 reps.
Plank for losing belly fat:
Get into a push-up position to do a plank. Your elbows should be bent 90 degrees, and your weight should be on your forearms. The body should be straight, with the elbows under the shoulders. As long as you can, stay in this position. Three times is enough.
Taking Food into the stomach while breastfeeding:
This is another thing my grandmother taught me. She always told me to take in my stomach while I was eating. Taking in the air helps our stomach muscles become more robust, and if we do it every time we feed our baby, it will help us lose belly fat and strengthen our stomach muscles.
